Summer Solstice is an auspicious time; it is a time to celebrate the increase in our light culminating in the longest day of the year. We acknowledge and cultivate this light so that we can draw on it and remember it as we begin our gradual journey into the depth of shortening days and longer nights. June 20 also marks the date of our next full moon: the Strawberry Moon. Native American tradition named this moon appropriately to mark the time when the strawberries ripened for gathering. This evening lodge celebrates our light, what we have manifested in our own self growth and awareness, and how we can pray for the ourselves and the world at this time. We look toward what we need to release moving forward toward the waning moon cycle in order to continue to manifest our brightest, most authentic selves.

Join us for our last Sandy Island sweat of the season (other lodges forth coming in alternate location). This is a very beautiful pre-dawn sweat during which we work with the sacred fire and enter the lodge in the early morning darkness and exit the lodge at sunrise. Following the sweat we will enjoy delicious a dip in the lake (optional but you will want to do it!) and then work together to break down the lodge and seal the space. The physical work of dismantling the sweat lodge is a very loving, grounding and connecting experience in and of itself. Afterwards we will enjoy a 7:30 am breakfast and some free time to pack and enjoy the island until our 9:30 am departure boat.
